With playoff spots up for grabs, the Eagles remained in the chase for a home game during the final week of the regular season. The Eagles hosted Illinois Tech in a big matchup for both teams. The last time the Eagles took on the Scarlet Hawks, Trevor Montiel would score at the buzzer to get the win for the Eagles.

With 14 lead changes, 12 times it was tied, and over time, you could tell both teams were fighting for the opportunity to make the tournament and possibly host for the first round.

Milos Dugalic and Otis Reale led the Scarlett Hawks to an impressive win by a final of 64-62 in overtime. Trevor Montiel led the Eagles with 23 points and Andrew Stokes with 12.

The Eagles were fortunate enough to clinch a spot in the tournament even after the loss due to other games going on in the NACC, but Saturday was a big step to get that home-court advantage in game 1 of the NACC tournament.

The Eagles hosted the Spartans from Aurora University for the final regular season game, which was senior day as well.

Benedictine got off to a dream start after shooting 53% from the field in the first half and walked into the locker room with a 20-point lead. Just as rivalry games usually go, Aurora was not done yet and made the game very interesting in the second half. Nonetheless, the Eagles were able to get the victory and gain a home game for the first round on Wednesday.

Andrew Stokes would lead the Eagles with 25 points, and Senior Nick Kosich had 20 points on 5 shots after going 11-11 from the free throw line. It was another great opportunity to honor the seniors this year: Marvin Agwomoh, Kevin Agwomoh, Jeffrey Kratz, and Nick Kosich. Kevin Agwomoh added 11 points after going 5-5 from the field. It was an all-around effort, especially by the seniors on their day to be recognized.

The Eagles will host the Scarlett Hawks again on Wednesday, February 22nd at 7PM. Stay tuned for all updates on BenUEagles.com and check out all Twitter pages as well.
