After beating a very talented North Central College team the previous week, the Eagles traveled to Dominican University for the first conference game of the year where they would win 78-63. The Eagles went 2-4 to open the season in nonconference matchups, but they are still focused on winning a conference championship.
The Eagles traveled East to play at Dominican University who were 4-1 going into last night’s matchup. They began the game with momentum and were up 6 going into the second half. Nothing changed in the second half as the team scored 50 of their 78 points in the paint and got to the free throw line 30 times.
Benedictine would have 5 players in double figures including Cullen Cosme with 15 and 10 for another double-double for the Eagles.
“I feel like after we got Coach Townsend’s first win, everything and everyone relaxed which is allowing us to begin to hit our stride,” said Cullen Cosme, a starting Sophomore point guard.
The Eagles will travel to Marian University on Saturday for another big conference matchup as Marian was the 2021 NACC Tournament Champions.
