After coming off two losses to start the season, the Eagles will travel to Crawfordville, Indiana for the 2022 Great Lakes Invitational this weekend.
The Eagles have four games in the span of a week, and the schedule will be a true test for the team. This has been a big tournament in the Midwest before thanksgiving as Coach Kyle Brummett said, “It has become the premier Division III tournament in the region.”
They will begin the weekend by playing the 2-0 Trine University. The Eagles have played Trine the past 2 years losing both years. The Trine team last year was ranked up to #6 in the nation at one point.
“Excited for the opportunity to play two quality teams at a big-time event,” said Coach Jordan Townsend. “We will find out a lot about ourselves this weekend.”
The following day the Eagles will take on Baldwin Wallace University who had made it to the NCAA Tournament just a few years ago. They enter the tournament at 1-0 after playing Cleveland State and Kent State in exhibition games.
“This is a big weekend for us, the team is excited to get out of town for a few days, spend some time together in a hotel and play a couple games against two really good teams in Trine and Baldwin Wallace,” said Senior Captain Nick Kosich.
