The Eagles cheerleading and dance team hosted their annual tryouts last week, promoting all their school spirit and support to the athletic events.
This season, the spirit programs are excited to announce 10 new members have been recruited to restart the dance team, creating new potential for the squad.
Coaches, Chelsea Freeman [dance] and Roberto Castillo [cheerleading], “Are so excited to get the spirit teams started this fall and support Benedictine athletics,” stated on the cheerleading and dance team Facebook page.
This process will take time and patience, which creates an open-minded attitude for their growing program.
“Throughout this process, I have felt extremely grateful for the support from BenU, those formerly involved with the spirit program, Harold Watson, the cheerleading program including coach Castillo, and most of all the student dancers on the team,” said Freeman.
The spirit program plans on working together on a combined breast cancer awareness event coming up in October. “My goal as a coach is that every student involved with the dance team program goes on to be a better version of themselves and loves others well because of the experience they had within the dance team,” said Freeman.
The cheerleading and dance team can’t wait to support the Eagles at the homecoming football game this Saturday at 1 pm.
