The Benedictine Men’s soccer team has gotten off to a hot start to the season and the nation has taken notice. The Eagles (5-2) are now ranked number nine in the Central Region and are just outside the National top 25 in the early part of the season.

During the seven game stretch, the defense has been the strong point for the Eagles as they have shut out their opponents three times. Benedictine’s Goalkeeper Antonio Marti Polo has registered a .737 save percentage in the seven games and has been one of the biggest reasons for the Eagles’ early season success.

The offense for the Eagles has been led by standout and 2016 NACC Conference Player of the Year Forward Nick Kapetanos. Kapetanos has at least doubled the offensive production of all the other Benedictine players on his way to scoring ten points over the seven games. Of those ten points, two were goals.

The Eagles will look to keep climbing in the National Rankings over the season as they try to start the NACC Conference schedule off on the right foot when they play Concordia University-Wisconsin on September 23.
