Saving Money while Still Looking Good

It’s tough to find quality, lasting beauty products without having to blow your entire paycheck on them. As much as I’d love to buy all my makeup at the MAC counter, it’s simply not an option for me. I research a lot of drugstore products online in attempt to find affordable ones that also have similar qualities to those of higher-end products. These are three of the products that I’ve discovered and have purchased time and time again.

Maybelline SuperStay 24 2-Step Lip Color- This is my go-to everyday lipstick. When the package says “superstay” it really means “superstay”. I’ll put this on at 9 in the morning and without fail, it’ll still be on by the evening. After applying the initial color, you put on the lip balm that comes with it and this keeps the lipstick from feeling too dry or sticky on your lips. It’ll stay in place pretty well, even if you’ve just eaten a burger. The tube will last for a couple of months. Walmart price: $7.54-$8.34.

L’Oreal Voluminous Extra Volume Mascara- This is what I’ve been using since I discovered the concept of Mascara. This tube comes with a thick brush that picks up a lot of product. Although this is supposed to help add volume, I find that it picks up too much product and can make your eyelashes look clumpy. So to combat this, I simply scrape some of the product off of the brush inside the tube, and then apply. This gives me the perfect combination of length and volume without making my eyelashes look too artificial. Walmart price: $6.62- $6.99

Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation- Ever since I started wearing makeup, I’ve always struggled to find a foundation that I really loved. Recently, I discovered this foundation and fell in love. It’s a very light formula so it barely feels as though you’re wearing anything at all. It has a medium coverage so it works well as an everyday foundation. It stays on well throughout the day so there’s rarely a need for any extra touch-ups, Unlike with many other types of foundations that I’ve tried, I was able to find a shade that matched me perfectly and blended in with my natural skin tone. Walmart price: $7.54.
