Career Development is offering Benedictine students (of all grade levels) the opportunity to get a head start on their careers.

This April 14th, there is a graduation fair from 10a.m. – 7 p.m., where graduating seniors can pick up their caps and gowns along with other preparations for this upcoming spring semester graduation. Whether or not participating in graduation, students can also attend the career fair from 11:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. happening alongside the grad fair.

This is an exciting and frightening event in most college students’ lives, but Benedictine is here to help ease the stress and worries students may have about finding a job after college.

All students and alumni are encouraged to come to the second floor of Kindlon on April 14th to meet and network with potential employers. There will be over 40 employers at the fair including Wellness House, California Board of Equalization, COUNTRY Financial, Department of Justice, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and HRS Home Health.

It is highly recommended that students who are interested in attending the job fair to dress professionally and bring copies of their resumes to hand to any of the employers of interest.

Learn how to stand out from other job-seeking students in the Navigating a Job Fair workshops that will be held April 5th through the 7th from 12:30 p.m.- 1:20 p.m.

Tuesday and Wednesday, April 5th and 6th, will be dedicated to a resume and cover letter writing and review workshop. These days will help any students looking to start or update their resumes for potential employers.

Thursday (April 7th), Tuesday (April 12th) and Wednesday (April 13th), will all be days dedicated to how to navigate through a job fair. These workshops will teach students how to stand out amongst the other competing students.

If you cannot attend any of these workshops, Career Development also has walk-in hours with Career Peer Educators: Mondays from 2 p.m.-4 p.m., Tuesday 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. & 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., Wednesday 3:00 – 5:00 p.m., Thursday 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. & 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and Friday 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Individual appointments may also be scheduled.

All workshops and walk-in office hours will be held in the lower level of Krasa, room 012.
