Men’s Basketball Seals Perfect Score

Men’s basketball again won another conference against Lakeland College. This past Saturday evening men’s basketball defeated Lakeland by 100-76. This has become their 25 win in their season.

“It was a great game for us from start to finish. We’re going to keep it rolling and into the postseason,” said junior Adam Reynolds.

Benedictine gained two ties at the beginning of the first half before pushing themselves further ahead of Lakeland. Benedictine lead by 12-7 with being only five minutes into the conference.

Senior Tim Reamer initiated a 19-1 run against their opponent, and ended with a jumper from senior John Dodson at 8:08 minutes left of the first half. Benedictine by then had a score of 31-8. The Eagles continued in the lead which resulted a score of 49-28 at end of the first half.

Benedictine added six points to their lead within the first two minutes of the second half. Lakeland decreased the lead that Benedictine had from 27 to 17 points ahead.
Benedictine eventually moved ahead with a 24 point lead and continued forward to end of the conference. A three pointer by junior Matt Chaltin sealed in another victory.

“It’s a great feeling to be 25-0 nd to have an undefeated regular season but we have to remember this is only the beginning. The next game is the most important and we have to come out and play our game to continue to perform,” said senior Luke Johnson.

This upcoming week is the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) semifinals and championship on campus at the Dan and Ada Rice Center. There has not been a verified opponent yet, but the NACC semifinals will be on Friday at 7 p.m. and NACC championship will be on Sunday at 2 p.m.
