Is Yoga the New Fitness?

Yoga is widely practiced because of its relaxation and health. Yoga is great for a total body workout, “If you are looking for a more total body approach to your workout, yoga might be a better choice. Yoga uses the entire body in each movement, giving you a more dynamic and total-body workout,” stated from the fitday website.

Yoga may at times be difficult with some of the poses but overall it is a good workout for the whole body. Yoga also has many benefits.“Current research suggests that a carefully adapted set of yoga poses may reduce low-back pain and improve function. Other studies also suggest that practicing yoga (as well as other forms of regular exercise) might improve quality of life; reduce stress; lower heart rate and blood pressure; help relieve anxiety, depression, and insomnia; and improve overall physical fitness, strength, and flexibility,” stated from the website of National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH).

More benefits from yoga are “Improved flexibility is one of the first and most obvious benefits of yoga…And when you build strength through yoga, you balance it with flexibility..Yoga gets your blood flowing. More specifically, the relaxation exercises you learn in yoga can help your circulation, especially in your hands and feet.”

It can be determined that yoga maybe the new fitness with all that has been said.
