Women’s volleyball beat Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) on Saturday afternoon. Benedictine ended strong in the third set leading them with a win against MSOE.
“It was an all around great win, we knew their weakness and used it against them. Played as a team and picked up every ball on the court,” said sophomore Emily Chitwood.
Benedictine’s women’s volleyball were in the lead and won all of three sets. Benedictine had an early lead in the first set due to senior Beckie Whitmarsh and junior Keriann Groen, who both also lead the team to win with the score of 25-18. Freshmen Kristina Billie advanced Benedictine into the lead with her serves throughout most parts of the second set which lead to the score of 25-16. There were 14 kills and four errors in the last set of the conference. Both teams tied at 15 but Benedictine won with a kill made from Groen. The final score for the third set was 25-19.
“I thought we played great. Everyone and everything was working together very well. It was a great win,” said Junior Kara Epping.
The next conference for women’s volleyball will be playing against Concordia University Wisconsin (CUW) on Friday October 16 at 7 p.m.
