No Chill for Game of Thrones

The last episode of season 4 left fans in complete shock with all that happened in a matter of one hour. Untimely deaths are what GoT is known for, but we have characters moving into different lands with different fates that will continue in the following season. Fans all around the world have been anticipating season 5 of Game of Thrones for months now. The official season premiere was set to be April 12th, but the first 4 episodes of the new season were leaked on several torrent sites a day before the first episode even aired.
TorrentFreak stated that the first episode was illegally downloaded over 100,000 times within the first three hours and in a matter of a day it was downloaded over a million times in dozens of different countries. GoT was already the #1 pirated show online because of its high demand with watchers, so this issue occurring was the best thing ever to happen for the GoT fan base.
Unfortunately for HBO, they don’t see things so joyfully. The airing of the first episode of season 5 was set very carefully and with the leak occurring just ruined the entire season premieres for them. According to The Guardian, a spokesperson HBO told The Mashable, “Sadly, it seems the leaked four episodes of the upcoming season of Game of Thrones originated from within a group approved by HBO to receive them. We’re actively assessing how this breach occurred.”
Piracy will probably be taken much more seriously after this mishap. Many officials of programs are furious about what happened and they should be; it ruins the demand for the next episode of the season. Watching a whole entire season in one sitting is just ridiculous and ruins the anticipation for what’s going to happen next. Many reviewers for shows don’t know how to react to this as well because their reviews are episode to episode. Now with the first half of the season out for the world to see, their reviews don’t mean much either. Instead of wasting 4 hours of your life watching Game of Thrones, just wait and see what HBO has to offer next!
