Facts on Fruit

Fruit provides the body with many nutrients. These include Vitamin C, folic acid, potassium, and fiber in addition to many other nutrients. Fruit has been shown to help reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, stroke, and diabetes; additionally, many types of fruit have been associated with reduced cancer risk. There are numerous types of fruit to choose from, so today we’ll be showcasing a few of the many fruits that can benefit your health.

According to WebMD, strawberries contain many antioxidants and contain high levels of manganese and potassium. Additionally, they contain quite a bit of vitamin C (eight strawberries will give you more Vitamin C than an orange!)

In several studies, blueberries have been proven to help protect the blood, and have been shown to reduce total cholesterol in the body. Blueberries have also been known to help reduce blood pressure, and are a good source of Vitamin K, manganese, fiber, copper, and Vitamin C.

According to, Bananas are a fantastic source of potassium, which helps to keep the blood pressure regulated and the heart functioning properly. Additionally, they contain a good amount of fiber, which can help with lowering heart disease risk. They are also very popular among athletes.

Oranges are known for their high Vitamin C content, which is incredibly important in the function of the immune system. Additionally, oranges are great for reducing inflammation and provide a great source of fiber.

Apples have been shown to be great for regulating blood sugar since they contain polyphenols. Additionally, apples are high in antioxidants and are often associated with a reduced risk of cancer. Apples also contain good amounts of Vitamin C and fiber.
