Benedictine University’s very own dance team took home first place in the hip-hop division at the NACC Dance Championship held at Milwaukee School of Engineering.
“As a third year member of the dance team, it has been such an honor to watch us grow individually and as a team. Taking first place at the NACC championship is a huge accomplishment. This year has been great for the BUDT. We are a whole new team with a whole new attitude, and now a first place trophy. I can’t wait to see what the upcoming year holds for us,” said junior Rebecca Watson.
The competition took place on March 22. Benedictine competed with five other schools in their division. Benedictine’s dance team gives credit to Antoinette Williams who choreographed their dance routine. The girls also want to personally thank their coach, Kate Daniel, for all of the hard work and dedication she has put into the team this year.
“My team did such a great job at competition. We worked very hard and it definitely showed. I’ve never seen all of us as a team bring it as hard as we did during competition. It was a great experience!” said junior Caitlin Lischka.
The dance team is already preparing for next year. Recently, the dance team held try outs for the 2015-2016 school year. The Benedictine University dance team performs at all of the home football and basketball games.
