If you are hungry and you are sick of eating at Coal Ben and the dining hall each day, maybe you can try a new place for lunch or dinner. There are a few good places that aren’t that far away that you can try if you’re in the mood for Mexican, Chinese, Italian, or a sweet treat. I have a list of a few good places to go to for a snack or for an actual meal and it’s just a quick drive down to the street to Naperville where the options are endless.

5. CHIPOTLE
This has been a favorite to a lot of people for the longest time and it never seems to go out of style. The items on the menu are very similar but different one way or another; you’ve got burritos, burrito bowls, tacos (crispy or soft), and salads. Even though the menu may seem small, you can customize your food item in whatever way you want by choosing different food items to go into the burrito or tacos. You can’t just have the food item alone; you need to have a side of chips and guacamole along with it. If you have had it before, then you know how good it tastes and if you haven’t had it before, then you’re missing out on the deliciousness that this place is creating for others.

4. RED MANGO
This place is good to go to if you are in the mood for having a cold, sweet treat known as frozen yogurt. Each day, they seem to change up the flavors of their frozen yogurt so they can satisfy the need of each person that walks into the establishment. When you decide which flavor you want, you can fill up your bowl with the amount of frozen yogurt you want. Then, you can choose different toppings such as several candies, fruits, syrups and creams to make it sweeter than before. Keep in mind that they charge you a couple of cents per ounce that is in your bowl, but that shouldn’t stop you from enjoying a sweet treat like that.

3. Q BBQ
This BBQ place brings the taste of American BBQ and combines it with food that people love. They have classic BBQ foods from pulled pork sandwiches and brisket to BBQ type nachos and salads. The give a variety of sides to sample along with the type of food that you are choosing from macaroni & cheese and french fries to side salads and mashed potatoes and baked beans. I tried the BBQ nachos and they put on a huge pile of toppings with your choice of meat along with it and they were pretty good. So, this place won’t disappoint your BBQ cravings if you choose to have a hearty meal at this place.

2. FLAT TOP STIR-FRY GRILL
Now, for those American style Asian food lovers out there, you can try a customized stir-fry dish from Flat Top Grill. With different options such as vegetables, rice, pasta, there are different ways you can make your stir-fry dish a delectable one to enjoy. You can also choose an appetizer like pot stickers or quesadillas and you can also choose a dessert like a brownie or a cake. Helpful hint: if you get the stir-fry, you need to get the tortilla bread to go along with it because the flavoring goes very well with whatever type of stir-fry you choose to get. Another helpful hint: if you get the stir-fry, you should get the unlimited option because you might want to get another stir-fry or two after you finish your first one.

1. NOODLES AND COMPANY
If you’re not in the mood for a big meal at a fancy restaurant, then I suggest going to this place where they offer a variety of pasta dishes. There seems to be a pasta dish that offers everyone’s taste buds: pad Thai, macaroni and cheese, steak stroganoff, spaghetti and meatballs, Tuscan fresca, penne rosa, and a few other ones. If you’re not in the mood for pasta, then they offer some delicious soups, salads, and sandwiches. You can add any kind of meat to your pasta for a little extra charge as well as include a side soup or salad for another charge. They also have other sides such as pot stickers, flatbread, garlic bread, as well as monthly special menu items that you have to go to the place or check their Website to find out what they are.
