Men’s basketball continued their winning streak when they beat Dominican University this past Thursday on the road, 84-61.
Benedictine took a strong, solid lead when they scored the first 5 points of the game. The lead was taken a step further when sophomore guard Michael Blaszczyk scored 5 points, reaching a lead for the Eagles of 27-13. Although Dominican scored 10 points, senior forward Tim McGinty saw an opportunity for a jumper and took it. At the end of the first half, Benedictine was ahead by 22 points with a score of 46-23.
In the second half, Benedictine held onto the lead; however, Dominican was unable to catch up to the Eagles. Junior forward Tim Reamer made both his free throws as well as scoring 11 points in the game.
Sophomore guard Tahron Harvey scored 16 points and sophomore forward Adam Reynolds added 12 points. McGinty who contributed 14 points also scored his 1,000th career point in a previous win against Rockford earlier last week.
“We played an all around good game and took care of business,” said McGinty.
Benedictine currently holds a record of 11-6 and a 9-3 record in the NACC. Come cheer on your Eagles as they play Wisconsin Lutheran at 3:15 p.m. Saturday, January 24 in the Rice center.
