Benedictine Football team faced Wisconsin Lutheran this past weekend on the road in their second conference game of the season.
In the start of the game, the opposing team was already winning 3-0 with 7:24 left of the first quarter. The warriors ended up scoring more points and the quarter finished with 10-0, with Benedictine yet to score.
In the second quarter, the game started out slow. The warriors started the quarter out again in the lead. It was then 17-0 with only 2:35 left of the second quarter. Towards the end of the game with only three seconds left to spare, the Eagles scored six points with the help of both senior Ryan Keener and junior Omar Lopez. The final score was 17-6. Benedictine lost to Wisconsin Lutheran.
In the end Keener had completed 20 passes including a touchdown, sophomore Luke Ludolph completed five passes, senior Greg German snared nine passes and senior Artie Monaco caught five passes and rushed seven time. The next football game will be in Aurora on October 18 at 1 p.m.
“It was a tough game and not the way we wanted to start conference. We played hard but we just need to finish the games and execute better. I think we have to really come together for the last half of the season and put it all on the line,” said Keener.
Benedictine will face their rivalry Aurora University on the road Saturday, October 18 at 1 p.m.
“We fought hard but didn’t get the results we wanted. Now it is time to get back to work and get ready for our rivals Aurora,” said Lopez.
