The Eagles Football team fell to Adrian College in their homecoming game 23-6 this past weekend.
The game remained scoreless going into the second quarter, but Adrian quickly changed that with a big 52 yard play to open second quarter. The Eagles responded with their own touchdown from senior quarterback Ryan Keener to senior wide receiver Greg German. That would be the only scoring from the Eagles as Adrian would put up 16 unanswered points.
Despite the loss, the eagles played really well on the defensive side of the ball and held Adrian to their lowest scoring output this season.
Not only did the defense hold Adrian to a season low score, but this was the best showing from the Eagles defense so far this season.
“The defense played extremely well. They were put in some tough spots and continued to come up big. They had a lot of great stops and just need to keep rolling.” Said Keener.
It’s still an early season, but the Eagles offense has only put up a total of 19 points in their three games, with the offense not scoring more than 7 in a game.
“We need to take care of the ball and stop committing penalties. We have the talent we just need to eliminate those little mistakes,” said Keener.
The Eagles enter their bye week 0-3 and get back to action October 4th when they take on Kalamazoo College on the road.
