Music filled Chicago during the summer time as artists perform all throughout the season. No matter what kind of music you enjoy, summer 2014 has been enriched with concerts from all types of music. From outdoor concerts, to massive indoor areas, Chicago is home to some of the best venues in the nation. Hopefully you were lucky enough to check out some of the shows that came to the city this summer! Here are a few of the many performers that rocked out in Chicago in the past couple of months.
Vans Warped Tour- All Summer
This Punk-Rock experience will bring out your inner rocker! Vans Warped Tour has been traveling around the country for around 20 years now, and does not plan on stopping anytime soon. This tour consists of the top punk and rock bands from all over. There are multiple stages set up at Midwest Bank Amphitheatre in Tinley Park, IL. A huge blow up sign is set up in the middle of the venue so fans can see what time and stage their favorite bands are playing. This concert takes place all summer long.
Justin Timberlake: July 9th-August 12th
The man continues to capture the hearts of many as he tours across the world with his 20/20 experience. JT’s tour was only for a about a month, so if you were able to see him preform in Chicago this summer you were one of the lucky ones! But have no fear; you can still catch Justin this winter when he goes back on tour!
Katy Perry: Prismatic Tour, June 22nd-October 10th
Katy’s shows are not just her singing, when you attend one of her concerts it feels like you have traveled to another universe and have taken a journey with the one and only Ms. Perry. Perry performed in Chicago a few weeks ago and put on one outstanding show. She is still on tour for a few more weeks, so if you are a dedicated Katy fan and wish to travel outside of the Chicago land area then check out her tour dates for her upcoming shows!
Jay-Z and Beyoncé: On the Run Tour. June 25th– August 5th
This dynamic duo has taken over the world. Jay-Z and Beyoncé is not only a power couple in Hollywood, but they are both incredible artists that came together and traveled their On the Run Tour this summer. Unfortunately this tour has ended, but Bey and Jay continue to make music, so I don’t want to assume anything, but I am pretty sure we will see them on tour again soon.
Lollapalooza- August 1st-3rd
Just like the Vans Warped Tour, Lollapalooza is full of bands that will make you want to rock out! Fans travel from all over the country to enjoy their favorite bands. Some of the world’s most popular artists such as Eminem, Lorde, and even Kings of Leon preformed at the 2014 Lollapalooza. It takes place, usually at the start of August and is always three days long. So if you missed out on this awesome concert event this year, be sure to check out tickets for summer 2015!
