The Benedictine University Parent Association hosted its second annual Family Brunch on Sunday, April 7th. Students and their families were welcomed to a brunch where they joined in a meal while honoring the graduating seniors.
The event began at 11:00 a.m. with mass at St. Procopius Abbey, followed by brunch on the second floor of Krasa. There were a little less than 80 people who attended the event. There were student speakers throughout the brunch given by graduating seniors.
The first speaker, Mary Higgs, shared her experience at Benedictine and how grateful she is to have a strong, family support system at home and at school. Sasmit Mohape spoke about his journey and how he truly felt the Benedictine value of hospitality.
The third speaker, Erik Rickert, expressed his appreciativeness for his mother and all she has done for him. Finally, Kelly Roe shared the reasons she chose Benedictine and how she could not have done it without her parents.
This event was a way to encourage and recognize the true Benedictine values, as well as wish the seniors luck as they continue to embark on their journey and future.
