The BenU Eagles men’s lacrosse team suffered a devastating loss this past Wednesday against Carthage College.

The Eagles lost the match 17-7 despite Tyler Buschow’s five goals. Carthage scored first and then Benedictine scored, however that would be the last time the Eagles were close as the Red Men pulled off twelve straight goals to jump to a 13-1 led after the third quarter.

There was a final bright spot in the game for the Eagles as they outscored Carthage 5-4 in the fourth to pull within ten. Additionally, Jeff Smitheram stopped 19 shots. The Eagles are back in action against Elmhurst College this Wednesday.
