1.) HAVE A PICNIC AT THE BEACH OR AT A LOCAL PARK
It’s spring and the weather is amazing! What better way to enjoy the weather than to share some food and spend quality time with friends or even family? Keep it simple: turkey sandwiches, juice boxes and fresh fruit are great choices for picnic food.
2.) GO ON A BIKE RIDE ALONG THE LAKE SHORE
Yes, it is the perfect time to pull the bike out of the garage and put it to use. Going on a bike ride is the perfect exercise, and spending time around Lake Michigan is a wonderful experience in the spring time.
3.) GO ON A ROAD TRIP
Time to open up that sun roof that has been closed all winter, grab a few friends and hit the road. A destination is not necessary; just put the keys in the ignition and go wherever the road leads.
4.) SEARS TOWER SKYDECK
Any real Chicagoan doesn’t call the Sears Tower by its new name: Willis Tower (eww!). That’s beside the point, as it is time for you to conquer any fear of heights. There is no better way to do so than to visit the sky deck. This glass room has the perfect view of the beautiful city of Chicago; it’s a great photo-op!
5.) GO TO A BASKETBALL GAME
Who doesn’t love going to a Bulls game and cheering for them at the top of their lungs? It is the greatest way to spend some time with a few friends when the weather isn’t so splendid outside!
6.) VISIT THE ZOO OR A MUSEUM
You are not the only one that has spring fever, as the animals at the zoo are also out enjoying the wonderful weather! The Lincoln Park and Brookfield Zoos are both popular destinations for tourists and locals alike. There are several other museums, such as the Museum of Science and the Art Institute of Chicago that can be visited on a rainy spring day.
7.) TRY EATING AT A NEW RESTAURANT
Aren’t you sick of trying the same restaurants where you have already memorized the whole menu? Try something new like an authentic Latin, Italian, Middle Eastern, Indian or even a Greek restaurant. Give your taste buds an experience they will never forget.
Hey, if the weather is nice enough (trust me, from the looks of it the weather, it is only getting better) go for a quick swim! Local pools will be open this spring. Real dare devils can go for a quick swim in Lake Michigan.
9.) PICK UP A BOOK AND READ IT OUTSIDE
This is like killing two birds with one stone. Not only are you enjoying the gorgeous weather, but you are also catching up on all the reading you wish you could have done before!
10.) TWO WORDS: SAND VOLLEYBALL
This is the best sport to play along the beach or even at a local park! Grab several friends and play a game of volleyball! Bring your A-game!
