Spring fashion low-down

It may not seem like it (especially due to the snow we’re about to get), but there is a new season coming upon us. Aside from the really well-executed transition, spring has arrived. Thankfully, The Candor is on top of every trend that struts the runway and we have the latest courtesy of all the celebrities, current trends, and fabulous designers.

Pleats

Pleats are a girl’s new best friend. These flowing, freeform pieces of fabric are extremely helpful to almost any body shape and worth an investment. Opt for a simpler splurge and it’s sure to last more than a couple seasons. Most of the time, this can be achieved through forms of skirts and dresses. It’s important that something with this style fits properly, or the whole concept will go to waste. Make sure the fit is just right, or it’s not worth it.

Bold colors: black, white, tangerine, sea foam green

In simple words: don’t be afraid. These colors are a little bold, so if you’re a little hesitant  it’s not hard to weave in a little color. The best way to play with these colors is in forms of button up shirts, specifically a light and airy material such as chiffon or silk. Pair these tops with complimentary colors. For instance, with a bold blue you can pair light beige desert pants. Dresses in these colors (especially black and white) are classics, but can also serve trendy purposes. Extremely classy, these colors should be worn for interviews or a professional event.      Neon colors can be quiet intimidating, but it’s not hard to try things in doses, which is why I recommend trying a neon nail polish or clutch with a solid LBD (little black dress).

Zig zags and chevrons

This is a guilty pleasure thrown in. It was all over the runways, and honestly the design itself is just too cute to pass up. It’s a playful look, but worth a shot. Especially on weekends for brunch or just catching up for coffee with an old friend.
