On February 7th at 6 p.m., University Police were patrolling Ondrak Hall when they detected the odor of marijuana coming from a third floor room. Subsequent investigation revealed that the resident student had 71 grams of cannabis, which was located in jars and zip-lock baggies. The investigation further revealed that the resident admitted to selling drugs on campus in order to pay bills. The state’s attorney’s office was contacted and approved felony charges for possession of cannabis. The student was taken to the DuPage County Jail, where the student waited on bond. The entire matter was referred to resident life for further sanctions under the university’s drug and alcohol policy.
On February 11th at 12:03 a.m., University Police were made aware of a fight between roommates in Roman Hall. One resident was about to cook in the kitchen. When the resident went to grab cooking tongs, he noticed they weren’t in the correct location. The resident then confronted his roommate and the fight escalated from there. As a result of the fight, one of the students was taken to Edward’s Hospital. It was revealed that he broke many bones in his hand. One of the students was trespassed from campus for the night until the matter could be resolved. The matter was referred to Residence Life for further sanctions. There is no criminal charging at this time.
On February 12th at 3:35 p.m., University Police were notified that the shower heads and faucet handles on floor one and three in Ondrak Hall had been removed from the shower stalls. The matter was referred to campus services for repairs. There were no witnesses to the incident.
