Where can one find power, strength, speed and fuel-efficiency all at the same venue?  The Chicago Auto Show of course! It’s currently on display at the McCormick place from February 10th to the 19th.
The cars on display consist of the brand new technological advances, fuel-efficiency and new models for this year. Attending the auto show is the perfect opportunity to browse for cars, but remember to also speak with dealers to find the best deals!

The auto show doesn’t only cater to consumers; people can bring their families as well and have a great time. Some of the interactive displays include Xbox Connect, build your own car, numerous game shows and drive simulator. With activities like these, anyone can enjoy the show!

Catchy, interactive displays bring together over 21 car dealers and more than 1000 cars from across the world. Test tracks are also available for attendees to experience.

The Chicago Automobile Trade Association, the group that puts on the Chicago Auto Show, is one of the nation’s oldest and largest dealer organizations. 2012 marks the 104th year the show has been put on in McCormick place making this a well-known dealership venue since the 1900s.

Although the show began at McCormick place in 1908, the first Chicago Auto Show took place in the Coliseum Exposition in 1901. In 1917 a “Gold Car” was displayed to the public. It contained 8,000 parts made of pure gold.  At the time, an average cars cost from $295 to $6,000 but this car was valued at $25,000.

With the passage of time, new perks and technological advancements were revealed at the annual car show for consumers. The space allotted for a car show increased with the growing demand. As of today, the Chicago Auto Show utilizes approximately 1.2 million square feet of McCormick to reveal the latest cars.

The Auto Show’s operating hours are from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day of the week. The ticket pricing is as follows: $11 for adults, $7 for elderly over 62 and children under 12 years of age. Several dealerships offer a discount of $4 on a weekday admission.
