1. Was scoring a touchdown the right move for the Giants instead of killing clock and kicking the field goal?
Tom Brown- Staff Writer- I do not think that the Giants should have scored that touchdown. They gave Tom Brady the ball back with too much time left and it very nearly came back to bite them.
John Pierri- Staff Writer- Seven points are better than three. I think the Giants were right taking points that were given to them and trusting their defense to stop Brady.
Luke Stanczyk- Sports Editor- While the percentages would say that killing the clock for the chip shot field goal is the right choice, I think Tom Coughlin made the right decision. With the way this postseason went, there is no such thing as a “gimmie” field goal.
2. Who is your early pick to win next year’s Super Bowl?
Tom Brown- Staff Writer- My pick for next year’s Super Bowl is the New Orleans Saints. They have a very complete team and should have most of their players back from this year.
John Pierri- Staff Writer- My pick for next season’s Super Bowl is either the Baltimore Ravens or the Chicago Bears. The Ravens have been on the cusp of a championship for the last few years, and I think the Bears are on their way to turning everything around with a healthy Cutler and Forte.
Luke Stanczyk- Sports Editor- I really like the Houston Texans for next season. They are not the most popular choice, but they were possibly the league’s most complete team until the injury bug hit this year. There’s no way they could lose so many key guys again next season.
3. What did you think of Madonna’s halftime show?
Tom Brown- Staff Writer- I thought the halftime show was pretty bad. I’m not a big fan of the NFL using artists who were famous decades ago for one last glory show, and M.I.A.’s use of the middle finger didn’t help the show at all.
John Pierri- Staff Writer- I taped the game, so I intentionally fast-forwarded through it. I had no interest in seeing a Madonna Super Bowl performance.
Luke Stanczyk- Sports Editor- I don’t know if it was a bad performance, but it was just, well, strange. Plus, what the heck is M.I.A thinking flipping the bird to the biggest national television audience of the year?
