At 5:15 p.m., University Police received a complaint from a staff member who reported that while walking from Birck Hall to the Birck faculty lot, he was almost struck by a vehicle at the intersection. Police were able to track down the student responsible for the inattentive driving. The student stated that he did not see the pedestrian until the last minute and swerved to avoid hitting the pedestrian. The driver had to submit a letter of apology to the faculty member in order to resolve the matter.
At 9:35 a.m., a student reported that sometime during the day on the 28th of November while her car was parked in the Neuzil/Rice parking lot, someone scratched a derogatory term (“whore”) into the passenger side of her car. The damage was approximately $1000.
At 1:20 a.m., University Police were on patrol in Founder’s Woods and noticed a large party at Thomas Hall. There were approximately 25 to 30 students in the apartment, which is in violation of the fire code. There were large quantities of alcohol and a number of underage students present. The resident students for that apartment were given citations for over-capacity and hosting an under-aged drinking party. Eleven other students were given citation for being underage in the presence of alcohol. The matter was passed over to Residence Life for further sanctions.
At 9 a.m., a student left his room unsecure for a matter of moments while using the restroom in Ondrak Hall. Upon his return, he found that two apple iPods and a set of Dr. Dre headphones missing. University Police are still investigating the matter.
