As part of the events leading up to the Homecoming dance, the Programming Board set up a free Tie Dye event on Thursday, Oct. 6 in the Quad. Students enjoyed the weather and were able to dye a free t-shirt  in between classes.

There were two tables set up and music was playing from the speakers.  There was also an area where students were able to pick their shirts and twist it in the way they wanted their design to look. After tying and soaking the shirt, students got to the messy part.

“I got a little bit of dye on my clothes, but it was totally worth it. My shirt design looked awesome in the end,” said freshman Sarah Mstaly.

The dye was placed in buckets and the students used large droppers to dye their pre-twisted shirts with the colors they wanted.

“It was a great idea to have the event during the day. I got to stop by during my break, see some friends, and make a cool shirt,” noted freshman Reham Mohamed.

This event was the first of three set up for that day. Later events included the Graduate Alumni Reception and the Float Decorating party in preparation for the Homecoming parade. All of the events for Homecoming correlated with the theme “A Story Book Affair”.
